White Channa Sundal
White Channa or Chickpeas or Kondakadalai is a good source of protein to vegetarians. Its one of the healthy snacks to have in the Tea time.. It also helps to maintain Blood Sugar level.. Soak channa in water for 4 -5 hours. If you couldn't find enough time to soak channa, soaking in hot water for 2 hrs is very fine.
Here goes the recipe..
Ingredients:
White Channa - 1 cup
Salt - As Needed
For Seasoning:
Oil - As Needed
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - Few
Grated Coconut - Optional
Procedure:
- Cook the channa in cooker along with salt.. I used to keep the cooker in high flame for 1 whistle, and after that will reduce the flame and keep it for 15 minutes. Open the cooker after the pressure subsides and see whether sundal is cooked.
- Do the seasoning and add it to sundal.
- Your healthy sundal is ready..
- If you wish top the sundal with Grated Coconut..
