Rumali Roti ( With Step-Wise Pictures)
Rumali Roti is a very thin Indian flat bread. The word Rumal means Hand kerchief. Roomali roti will be very thin just like Hand kerchief. It can be easily prepared at home. All you need is a heavy bottom pan.
Here goes that easy recipe!!! Start preparing Rumali Roti at home!!
Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour - 1 cup
All Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup
Baking Soda - a pinch
Salt - As required
Milk - 2 tbsp
Water - As required.
Procedure:
- Combine all the ingredients and milk. Add enough water and start kneading. The dough should be sticky only.
- Cover the dough with a wet cloth and let it sit for at- least 30 minutes.. After 30 minutes, take a lemon sized ball, roll it with a help of flour..
- Roll the roti, very thin.
- Take a heavy bottom pan. Turn it upside down and switch on the flame.
- Take out the rolled roti with your hands and swap it between your hands. By doing this, roti will get enlarged in its size.
- Place it on the pan as below.
- Immediately flip it over as it will take only very less time to cook.
- Just check whether its cooked on all sides. If not, place that part alone again on pan.
- Serve it hot with Veg Side-Dish or Non-Veg Side Dish.
