Ingredients:
Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Hard Boiled Egg - 2
Big Onion - 1 (Big)
Green Chili - 2
Ginger-Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/4 tsp
Yogurt - 1/4 cup
Salt - As required
Mint Leaves - a handful
Coriander Leaves - a handful
Oil - 2 tbsp
Procedure:
- Wash and cook rice in 2 cups of water for a whistle. Hard boil eggs. You can check here for how to prepare Hard Boiled Eggs. Chop Big onion lengthwise. Slit Green Chili. Chop finely coriander and mint leaves.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped Big onion and slit Green chili to it. Saute till onions turn translucent.
- After they turn translucent add Ginger garlic paste. Add also turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder in a quick session. Add all the powders very fast, so that none of the onions get burnt.
- Add yogurt, enough salt, coriander and mint leaves. Mix everything well.
- Reduce the flame to low and add cooked rice to the pan. Mix rice well with gravy. Cover with a lid and cook in low flame for 3 more minutes. Switch off the flame after that. Enjoy your Briyani with Raita!!!!
